Zarbdar Privacy Policy

Effective 3 October 2026 ยท Updated 3 October 2026

Zarbdar is a word game: a crossword you build as you play. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Zarbdar app on Android or play it in a web browser.

The short version

Zarbdar has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and never sells or shares your data. You can play without an account: your progress then stays on your device. On zarbdar.app you can choose to sign in with Google to keep your progress online; only then is anything stored on our servers, and you can delete it at any time.

What stays on your device

To keep your progress between games, Zarbdar saves the following on your own device:

Uninstalling the app (or clearing the browser's site data) deletes it. On Android, the system's own device backup may include it if you have turned backup on; that backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by Zarbdar.

If you sign in with Google (zarbdar.app only)

Signing in is optional and only available on the website; the Android app has no sign-in. When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your Google account ID, your name and your email address. We store, on Cloudflare's servers:

We use this only to sign you in and keep your progress. We never use it for advertising, never send you marketing email, and never share or sell it. We do not receive your Google password or anything else from your Google account.

Deleting it: open the About page from the (i) button on the start screen and choose Delete my account. Your account, saved progress and sessions are deleted at once. You can also email us to have them deleted. Signing out removes the session from that browser.

Cookies

zarbdar.app sets one cookie, and only after you sign in: zb_session, which keeps you signed in. It is necessary for sign-in and is not used for tracking. Google's sign-in button may set its own cookies when you use it, under Google's privacy policy.
